Follow these steps to deposit checks from your smartphone

Tip 1

On the back of the check write "For Deposit Only at BPPR", your account number and signature. Remember to place this information in the designated space.

Look for a flat surface with good lighting to take the picture. Make sure the surface is not the same color as the check.

Tip 3

Take the picture. If you have an Android phone, place the check inside the blue box. On Iphone devices, place the check within the frame shown on the screen.

Make sure the photos are not blurry.

When you submit the check, verify your email. You should receive an email that confirms that the deposit was received and another that indicates that the deposit was processed or approved.

If you have a check that was not processed, it could be due to one of these situations:

  • Money orders or manager's checks from another bank or institution
  • Checks drawn on behalf of a person not signing the account, or on behalf of a merchant to be deposited in an individual account
  • International checks are not accepted, as well as some checks from banks in the United States.

  • Deposit monetary limits: $10,000 per check, $10,000 daily in total and up to $20,000 in 25 business days from the date of the last deposit made through this service. The 25-day period excludes federal holidays and weekends.
  • Check deposit limits: maximum of 10 checks per day and 50 checks in 25 business days from the date of the last deposit made through this service. The 25-day period excludes federal holidays and weekends. 
  • Checks from Popular deposited on business days before 6:00 p.m. will be processed on the same day and funds will be available the next business day. Subject to verification and validation of the deposit.
  • Checks from other financial institutions deposited on business days before 6:00pm will be processed on the same day. You will receive the first $275 on the next business day, up to $550 on the 2nd business day, and the rest of the money on the 3rd business day.

Mobile Easy Deposit is a free service and only for customers with commercial accounts (Ideal Business® & B-Smart®) and/or individual deposit accounts in Banco Popular. Customers are selected according to the Bank’s eligibility criteria. Checks deposited before 6:00 p.m. on a business day will be processed the same business day, subject to verification and validation of the deposit. In the back of the check to be deposited, you must include: signature, account number and the phrase “For Deposit Only at BPPR”.
